Graduate Success at Goodrich

"I graduated as a BEng in Robotics and Cybertronics summer 2008 and was offered employment at Goodrich Power Systems about a week later. I design and test Generator Control Units (GCUs) for fixed wing and rotary aircraft. In the near future I’m likely to join a dedicated team overseeing design for testability reviews, which are a mandatory pre-production requirement.

We produce these GCUs for high performance aircraft such as the Harrier Jump-Jet, the new Airbus A380 and the Sikorsky CH53 Helicopter, to name a few. In my work I use many of the fundamentals from the final year Testing and Testable Design module given by Dr James McClean.

I’m sure that the real world & practical approach Heriot-Watt uses in its teaching helped me gain this excellent employment and career opportunity.
